SUMMARY
We are a group of primary schools teaching children aged between 7-15. Our project deals with the problem of misinterpreted democracy especially among the students in our schools and with the discipline problems caused by this misunderstanding.

Starting from this we decided to look at the discipline concept all over Europe. During the project we will compare discipline approaches in our schools and together will try to help each other find a common approach. We will also try to find a common path for teachers and students in our own schools, and for parents and their children as well, by encouraging our students to make their own rules.

Students and teachers will work together trying to find the best ways of promoting democracy, discipline and respect and they will keep in touch with their foreign friends,communicating directly via e-mail, Skype or the forum on the project's web page.

In every school we will found a group of Mentors(students)who will lead the Democratic Club, teaching their peers real values of Respect,Discipline and Democracy through interactive and attractive weekly activities. The students making the greatest progress will go on a "Discipline and democracy" international camp.

Teachers directly share in intercultural contact at project meetings, keeping virtual contact between meetings. They will monitor the activities of the project, will guide the group of Mentors and the activities taking place in the Democratic Clubs and will evaluate the progress of the target students.

Pupils' outcomes are presented during project meetings, exhibited in each school, afterwards disseminated. In this way we can show how much we can promote successful rules that we have achieved and make our students aware of them.There will be a different theme for each meeting.
Our project number is 2012-1-RO1-COM06-22408-1/6.
CONCRETE OBJECTIVES OF THE PARTNERSHIP:
- reducing the number of disciplinary incidents in partner schools;
- improving the knowledge and use of democratic values and rules among our students;
- increasing awareness /understanding of different European cultures and of our common humanity
- increasing the level of self confidence in our teachers and students through international cooperation and support
- developing the sense of responsibility in our students by encouraging them to state the rules they would follow during specific activities and during the regular classes
- increasing the European value of our schools by creating an European network of schools where teachers and students can find support and advice from their foreign peers
- developing the students' life skills across a range of subjects: English, French, ITC, other foreign languages, Geography, Civic Education
PROBLEMS:
•Lack of understanding about other European cultures among our students
•Difficulties with language-poor English and French and lack of knowledge of partners' languages
•Pupils and staff lacking confidence and motivation
The main theme of the project is to compare the way discipline and democracy are seen in different countries across Europe and to give the partners the opportunity to discover new and more positive ways of dealing with the problematic situations in schools and families.
Another problem we intend to address is the lack of communication between teenagers and their parents and the conflicts resulting from this situation. Such conflicts can affect school life and can lead to unattendance or even school abandon.
APPROACH:
We intend to achieve our goal by:
-preparing questionnaires,
-making presentations of the educational systems and discipline approaches in different countries and schools,
-arranging meetings for students to work together,
-organizing meetings for students and parents
-brainstorming rules and solutions to real problems,
-experimenting real life situations where rules should be applied
-organizing a Democratic Club inside every school where students will be mentors for their troubled peers and help them find better ways of acting and better alternatives to hanging out in gangs or browsing the internet.
Most of the project activities will take place in this Democratic Club. At the end of the project mentors, together with the mentors, students who have made the greatest progress will go on an international camp of "Discipline and democracy".
